This will be Sandbar’s first singer/songwriter showcase. This will be a bi weekly event featuring some of the best singer/songwriters Albuquerque has to offer. This one will be featuring Alex LuJeunesse, David Bridwell, Russell Ash, and Chase Dabney. All very talented individuals. There will be info on each of them posted in the event. Come shows these guys some love and support while enjoying your favorite beverage at Sandbar’s well stacked bar, with more beers than you can count on tap! And try some of their amazing food! Alexander LaJeunesse is no slouch when it comes to writing and performing songs. He has been wowing audiences at open mic nights all over town. His originals about relationships, heartbreak, and life in general are something to behold. He also puts his own spin on the cover songs he performs. He has been a welcome addition to the open mic nights in the past and we can’t wait to see what he does at the showcase!
David Bridwell is a folk singer based in Albuquerque who’s known for writing songs with straightforward honest humor. 14 of his songs have been featured on local radio or TV. He’s been very busy so he released a new single called Keepin’ Me Busy, available on YouTube.
Russell Ash is an accomplished songwriter and performer new to the Albuquerque area. In his short time he has impressed all of us at the Sandbar open mic with his amazing voice, deep songs, and heartfelt melodies. Be sure to catch his set at the showcase. His original songs are nothing short of insightful and emotion provoking and his take on cover tunes is original and intriguing.
Chase is passionate about melding haunting tones with ferocious and fragile acoustics. A lover of the loudest, fastest, and most complicated instrumental acoustic guitar, he studied classical guitar at university in Louisville, Kentucky and Brisbane, Australia. After cutting his teeth as a resident performer in some of Australia’s iconic venues, Chase moved back to the U.S. From Louisville, Chase toured with platinum selling recording artist Days of the New, played with the desert rock band The Burned, performed over 500 shows around the world, and recorded with Grammy award winning producer Toby Wright as the lead guitarist for the hard rock band Burn to Shine. Scars, Chase’s first full band debut, is will be available everywhere on June 1st, 2019. The sound of Scars is dark and melodic with cerebral melodies that make the music unmistakable. The songs showcase crisp vocals, sleazy and sometimes raucous bass, with powerful drum beats and lyrics that delve into the most taught aspects of losing faith, complicated relationships, and deals with the Devil.
