Singer-Songwriter Showcase featuring Ry Warner, J5th, Toni Maestas, and David Bridwell (host)
Tractor Brewery - Wells Park
Ry Warner is an experimental country musician from the Appalachian foothills of southeastern Ohio, currently based in northern New Mexico. He has collaborated with artists such as legendary pedal steel guitarist Susan Alcorn, trance-punk painter Arrington de Dionyso, Dimitri Manos (Dr. Dog) and Connor Gallaher (Calexico). He developed a style called High Country that drew on free jazz, country, noise, drone, north African assouf, and Appalachian folk. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REoK50qQupw
J5th is the real American outlaw deal. Originally from northern California, he relocated to the southwest in the late 90's. Influenced not only by the sounds of classic country and rock n roll... but also by the lifestyles some would find questionable. He writes about his life with heartfelt and brutal honesty; about the good, the not so good and his reflections on it all. Toni Maestas likes women with tattoos and they like her too. An Albuquerque native, Toni Maestas sticks to no particular genre when writing her hook-filled tunes and life-influenced lyrics. She's part rock-n-roller, honky-tonker, and gritty singer/songwriter https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLhANlOL-zA
David Bridwell is a country-americana-rock-folk singer writing about spiders, bad drivers, and bad breakups. He's posting one new song each month on social media (@davidbridwellmusic on FB or Instagram). He just came out with a song "Dirty Old Town", featuring images from the Rail Runner train: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJqk8qjUx0M&t=1s
